Business Development Team
Our business development team focuses on originating new mandates and deepening relationships with business owners, executives, and referral partners. The team identifies and qualifies prospective clients across Osprey Capital’s target sectors, emphasizing our advisory capabilities and building a high-quality pipeline of opportunities. Working closely with the deal execution team, business development ensures a smooth transition from initial outreach to formal engagement, helping maximize value for our clients while supporting the firm’s long-term growth.
Job Description
Osprey Capital Partners is seeking a highly motivated Associate to join our Business Development team in Toronto, ON. This role is central to originating new mandates and expanding our relationships with business owners, and executives. The Associate works closely with senior team members to identify and qualify prospective clients, support targeted outreach campaigns, and help convert opportunities into active engagements, directly contributing to the growth of Osprey Capital’s deal pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
As an Associate, you will:
- Conduct outbound outreach to business owners and executives in Osprey’s target sectors.
- Identify and qualify prospective clients considering a sale, succession, growth capital, or other strategic transactions.
- Clearly and professionally communicate Osprey Capital’s value proposition, service offerings, and deal experience.
- Record interactions, outcomes, and next steps in our CRM to maintain an accurate, up-to-date pipeline.
- Coordinate with senior team members to secure and prepare for introductory meetings with qualified prospects.
- Monitor industry news, transaction activity, and market trends to support targeted outreach and identify new opportunities.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
- Genuine interest in business development and building relationships with business owners and executives.
- Strong verbal communication skills and the confidence to lead conversations and handle objections professionally.
- Highly self-motivated, competitive, and comfortable working in a high-activity outbound environment.
- No prior investment banking experience required; experience in outbound sales, cold calling, or other client-facing roles is considered an asset.
